Worked on fintech systems for globally distributed teams: payment gateways and processors, fraud prevention and a BNPL solution, while mentoring developers and setting up deployment pipelines.
What I did
- Designed, developed and deployed scalable web applications with ReactJS, NextJS, VueJS, NestJS, NodeJS, ExpressJS and GraphQL alongside cross-functional, globally distributed teams.
- Built deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem: payment gateways, payment processors and fraud-prevention mechanisms.
- Developed a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solution with product managers and UX/UI designers, integrating third-party payment providers.
- Conducted code reviews, gave technical guidance and mentored junior developers to raise code quality.
- Implemented CI/CD with GitLab and AWS CodePipeline, deploying to EC2 with AWS Parameter Store.
- Improved performance and scalability through code optimisation, caching and load balancing.
- Estimated work with story points, prioritised sprint scope and kept deadlines feasible.
- Documented APIs with Swagger and Postman.
- Established a secure token-based API with roles, access control and webhooks for partner integrations.
- Wrote migration scripts to keep the live database aligned with each release.
